Wix Might Work for Now, But It’s Not Built for Long-Term Business Growth

Wix is easy to start with, but often holds businesses back. Learn where Wix falls short for growing brands and how a strategic website setup can help you scale with ease.

Here’s What You Need to Know (From Someone Who’s Fixed a Lot of Wix Messes)

Let me start by saying:

Wix can be a good starting point.

It’s beginner-friendly.

It’s quick to launch.

And for a brand-new business owner DIY-ing everything on a budget, it can feel like a win.

But here’s the thing I see over and over again with clients:

What started as a “simple” solution ends up causing more stress, limitations, and lost opportunities down the road.

Let’s break it down.

Why People Choose Wix (And Hey, It Makes Sense!)

Honestly, I get it. When you’re just trying to get online and start selling, fast and easy sounds like the dream. But here’s the problem…

Where Wix Starts to Let You Down

Limited SEO Control

Wix does offer basic SEO tools, but if you want your site to actually rank on Google? You’ll hit a wall.

No advanced schema. Clunky code. Slower load times. And forget deep control over your metadata and site structure.

(This is where I come in. Helping sites get seen is my jam.)

Performance Isn't Its Strong Suit

Your website’s speed = a key ranking factor and a major user experience factor.

Wix’s code-heavy structure and limited caching options often mean sluggish load times, and higher bounce rates.

(If your ideal clients are bouncing before they even see your offers, that’s a problem I can fix.)

You Don’t Fully Own Your Site

With Wix, you’re building on their platform. If you ever want to migrate to a new host or platform?

Let’s just say it’s not plug-and-play.

I recently migrated a client’s site and domain off Wix… it was a mess of locked-down settings, DNS confusion, and delays.

(I offer stress-free migrations that put you back in control of your brand and assets.)

Scaling Gets Hard

Need more functionality? Want to install custom tools? Trying to integrate with third-party platforms?

Wix will limit you, fast.

Whereas WordPress + Elementor (my preferred combo) gives you full creative and strategic freedom.

(And yes, I help build beautiful, high-performing websites that grow with you.)

So… Should You Avoid Wix Completely?

Not necessarily.

If you’re just getting started and need something up today with zero budget or tech support, it might work, for now.

But if you’re building a real business and want your website to help you grow, attract leads, show up in Google, and make a strong impression?

You’re going to need something more powerful, scalable, and yours.

What to Do if You're Already on Wix (But Know You’ve Outgrown It)

You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

I offer:

Let’s take your website from “it’ll do for now” to “I’m proud to send people there.”

TLDR:

Wix is a popular website builder for beginners thanks to its easy setup and drag-and-drop design, but it’s not built for long-term business growth.

If you’ve outgrown your Wix site, it may be time to switch to a more flexible, high-performing platform like WordPress + Elementor. Best of both worlds; robust ability for customization, SEO possibilities paired with an easy to use builder.
